Proactive maintenance through monitoring oil cleanliness is a major focus. (ISO4406:2021)
A traditional manual count using an optical microscope in accordance with ISO4407:2025 is used to provide a more reliable and accurate result.  It also allows the morphology (eg: cutting, sliding and fatigue chunks) and contaminant type (eg: silica, metallic wear particles or fibres)
If further investigation is warranted, basic ferrography using a bichromatic microscope is used.
Scheduled Oil Samples (SOS) raw data from the laboratory are imported into a database where the trends can be monitored from mean or hard limits.
